2007 rescue statistics

In 2007 we had 60 call outs. Crew members are alerted by a pager system which they carry on them at all times, and the first few crew members to arrive at the boathouse get kitted out, load up the rescue equipment, and go.

Broken down craft: 22
Stolen craft: 3
Assualts: 3
Canoeists: 3 
Craft on rocks: 5
Capsized: 3
Walkers: 9
Fires: 4
Swimmers:6
Deceased: 6

These shouts often vary from boats and jet-skis out of fuel, mechanical problems, fires (which involves taking the fire brigade and equipment to the scene), canoeists and sailing craft being caught out in bad weather, and swimmers getting into difficulty.
